CASE the Catty Challenge

I've recently joined a Facebook group called CASEing the Catty Sunday challenge. It is a group of crafters who love Stampin' Up! products and who love to CASE (Copy and Share Everything) other's creations. I love how the Stampin' Up! community is so supportive, sharing ideas and inspiration with each other.  The way the group works is......Each Sunday at 7pm a category is posted the group's wall showcasing an example of a project from the Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. Participants then CASE the design, whether it be an exact copy or just using the layout, embellishments, sentiment or colour combo, photograph their creation and upload it to the group wall. The card/project with the most amount of likes will win the group challenge.  This week the challenge was to CASE a birthday card and give it a Christmas twist. I chose to CASE the birthday card pictured on page 21 of the annual catalogue.  Here is my creation that I came up with: I chose

Simple Stamping

Today's share is a simple card and chocolate holder that I have made for my son's teacher's gift. I've used just one stamp from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set, stamped onto the beautiful Petal Promenade designer series paper. I wanted to share with you that stamping does not have to be complicated, it really can be simple and still be pretty.  I CASEd the chocolate treat holder from Gail at Blue Rose Paper Treasures. Her tutorial can be found on her YouTube channel here . I have just made the treat holder on it's own deciding not to stick it onto a card. I made a fancy fold card, I cut an A4 piece of cardstock in half on the short side, folded it in half, then folded the top layer in half on itself (I hope that makes sense!) The petal promenade designer series paper is a beautiful collection of photographic images. The image on the front of the card is an image that is printed multiple times on one sheet, and I have simply cut around it. I then layer

Global Design Project Challenge 164 - CASE the designer

It is time for another Global Design Project Challenge and this week we are CASEing the beautiful card from the talented Louise Sharp. Here is her design: When you CASE (copy and selectively edit) someone's design you take the elements from their design and use them in own creation. In this challenge I used the layout of this card to create a Christmas card using the Candy Cane Season Bundle . With only 5 weeks to go until Christmas I need to make a start on my Christmas cards and send them off in time. I'm so not prepared! I created a background image using the holly and berry stamps, stamped in pear pizzazz and cherry cobbler ink, in a random pattern.  I used the stamping off technique to stamp the all the elements on the card so that the images were not too bold. To add some texture I used the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder , this is one of my favourite embossing folders. Have you started making your Christmas Cards yet? There are so

Wishing You Well Stamp Set

Hello and thanks for stopping by. I hope you have had a great week. I wanted to share with you today how you can use one stamp set to create different themed cards. Here I have used the Wishing You Well stamp set to create a Christmas Card and a get well card. This is a distinktive stamp set, the latest innovation in stamp making by Stampin' Up! The stamps create a photo realistic image, they are made with a special texture to give a lot of depth and dimension. To make my card bases I simply cut an A4 piece of cardstock in half on the long side, then fold in half so that I get two card bases from one A4 sheet. To work out my dsp layers on my card I cut them a 1/8"shorter than my card base.  On the Christmas card I have used mossy meadow and cherry cobbler card stock and the festive farmhouse designer series paper. The wreath is stamped with pear pizzazz ink and the bow in cherry cobbler ink. The wishing you well card is created with the frosted floral des

Global Design Project 162 - Sketch Challenge

Today I submitted an entry to my first ever card challenge over at Global Design Project #162 . A card challenge is a great way to get inspired when you are a little stuck for a card design, and also to share your creation and network with a bunch of like minded creative people from all over the world. I was so excited to receive the gorgeous Frosted Floral Designer Series Paper and matching Cardstock in my order this week. The pack is full of gorgeous shimmery designs and is one of my Stampin' Up! must haves. Accompanying these are the Frosted Bouquet Framelits dies which I have used to create the label, thin frame and embellishments on the card. Another must have of mine is the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (try saying that five times fast!). I used it to create a subtle texture on my happy birthday label. I think it gives an added dimension to the design. The beautiful sentiment is from the Special Celebrations Stamp Set . Adhering the thin fr

Fairy Celebration Watercolour Card

As I am a new Stampin' Up! demonstrator, it is taking me a while to build up my supplies. I love the versatility of being able to match different stamp sets with designer series papers from different suites. Creating of stack of projects with a small amount of product.  I created this card using the Fairy Celebration stamp set with the Festive Farmhouse designer series paper and matching cardstock which is in the holiday catalogue.  The fairy image was stamped on water colour paper with black Stazon ink and water coloured with the aqua painter. The image was a little tricky to colour as it has fine lines but the thin brush on the aqua painter did the trick. I don't have any brown ink as yet to colour the tree branch so I mixed some calypso coral and balmy blue inks together. The inks I have used to colour the image are: so saffron, mossy meadow, petal pink, blushing bride and cherry cobbler.    The card measurements are: card base -  an A4 sheet of card st

Magic Colour Slider Card

I love making cards that challenge my creativity and this one sure did but it was fun to put together. I cased this design from the very clever Jennifer Frost www.jenniferfrost.blogspot.com , by following her simple video tutorial. You can view it here . The magic happens when you pull on the top tab and the cover slides up to reveal a colour version of the fairy. I used the Fairy Celebration stamp set and the Garden Impressions designer series paper and matching card stock. The stamp set is so sweet, the images can be stamped and left uncoloured or you can colour the stamped images with Stampin' Up! blend markers or water colour them with the aqua painter which is what I've done here. Fairy Celebration Stamp Set Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper Garden Impressions Cardstock When using the aqua painter , stamp your image onto water colour paper with black StazOn ink as it is alcohol based and it won't run when the water is applied

Candy Cane Season Bundle

Hi and thank you for visiting my blog, a place for me to share my creations and my love of Stampin' Up! products. For me personally, card making and craft is a therapy, I'm a busy mum of four, married to a very supportive husband, volunteer in my local community and work part time. My craft room is my space where I can go and close the doors on my busy day and immerse myself in pretty papers, inks and stamps. It's so relaxing creating cards for family and friends. I love creating and sharing my work with other like minded creative people like yourself.  I'm holding my first ever card class next week with a few of my craft loving friends and I thought what better time to start on my Christmas card making. I bought the Candy Cane Season bundle as I thought it was a great deal getting the stamp and punch in the one pack and I could see endless possibilities with the different stamp combinations. We will be making two greeting cards and a set of 3x3 notecar
