Inspire.Create.Challenge #50

The weather here on the South Coast NSW is so bleak...freezing, windy and rainy......perfect for card making. It's the 50th challenge on the Inspire.Create.Challenge blog and I have decided to play along. I love card challenges as they provide inspiration and ideas for card designs, something that I always get stuck on! This is the card sketch challenge: As soon as I saw this I knew I wanted to showcase the Sailing Home stamp set and co-ordinating dies. Both my husband and son have a career in the Royal Australian Navy, taking them to different destinations here and abroad, so I love anything nautical themed.  When I use the stamp set my go to colours are night of navy and early espresso, I just think that they compliment the stamp set beautifully, and night of navy features on the co-ordinating designer series paper. If I am creating a simple design I have trouble keeping it simple and always add texture, dimension or embellishments. (I just can't help it!)

Step up a simple stamping project

If you are a beginner stamper it can be overwhelming thinking of what to create with your beautiful stamps. The best place that I have found to start, is to create simple projects with just a few items - such as stamp, ink and paper, then slowly add other elements. Things like die cuts, stampin' dimensionals, different mediums, ribbon and designer series paper can add dimension, texture and colour. I've used the Hoot Hoot Hooray stamp, whisper white card stock, watercolour pencils, and some ink to create a simple card. Then I have stepped up the design by adding some stampin' dimensionals, coloured cardstock and linen thread. View the supply list below. Global Design Project 202 Sketch Challenge

Today's share is my entry into the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge #202. I made a baby card with the Hoot Hoot Hooray stamp set and the Still Scenes bundle. Here's my interpretation of the sketch. I wanted to show the versatility of the Still Scenes bundle and coordinating products, that they can be used for more than just Christmas cards. I rarely make baby cards so I took this opportunity to make  this card for a friend to celebrate the birth of their baby girl.  Product List Whisper White A4 Card Stock [ 106549 ] Card Stock A4 Blushing Bride [ 131287 ] Snow Globe Shaker Dome [ 150442 ] Ice Stampin' Glitter [ 150445 ] Iridescent Sequin Assortment [ 144212 ] Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine [ 124262 ] Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [ 132708 ] Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad [ 147100 ] Flirty Flamingo Light Stampin' Blends Marker

Snow globe shaker card featuring new holiday products!

Not long to go until the new Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue 2019-2020 is released. One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator is I am able to pre-order new product before they are available to order. I couldn't wait to make this shaker card featuring the new Still Scenes bundle and coordinating products. At first I was trying to imagine how to line everything up so that the snow globe shaker dome fit in the die cut aperture, but once I began to work on the project it was a fairly easy process.
